TIPS:

Included within the Northern Lights Village Levi package is a glass-roof cabin with heated glass, all meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), all thermal gear (snow suits, hats, gloves, neck warmers, boots, socks, etc.), complimentary usage of showshoes and/or cross-country skis, the experiences listed above (B1, A1, A5, etc.) and airport transfers.

Although we did not see the aurora borealis on any of our “aurora expeditions” because it was very cloudy, it was still such a fun experience and I still recommend it.

For us it was -18 degrees Fahrenheit, and with all of our gear on we were totally fine except for our toes. I recommend bringing two pairs of warm winter socks and wearing both of them, and wearing the snow boots that the hotel provides but sizing up so your toes aren’t too squished with the double socks. We wore our own winter jackets under their winter snow suits haha!

I recommend wearing glove liners under your gloves if you go while it is very cold. This is because you’ll likely want to take photos which is very difficult with large gloves on. With liners on though, you can take your bulky gloves off, snap photos, and still feel your fingers haha!

The hot mixed berry juice is incredible, it was my absolute favorite thing.

On every expedition, a fire is made.

Ladies- I do not recommend wearing mascara, unless you are confident that it is truly waterproof. I found this out the hard way, oops!

No one is expecting a tip which is nice. Besides the little bit of money we spent on souvenirs, we did not pay for anything while there. We paid for the trip in full before arriving.

The one dining hall is buffet-style, which is actually really nice because everyone is on a different schedule with their excursions, etc.

We flew in and went immediately to the resort. If you have more days to take off for vacation, I recommend either staying in Helsinki or somewhere in Levi nearby for a night before your first day at the Northern Lights Village. I recommend this because our flight was delayed 2 hours and since we had such a tight schedule full of expeditions, one excursion had to be rescheduled since we came in late. So to avoid this stress, I recommend staying nearby for a night if you have that flexibility. You can also add on a night to the package, that way you would spend a night in your cabin, but your activities would not start until the next day.

If you wear glasses, I recommend wearing contacts if possible because glasses will fog up due to the temperature change.

I took all of our photos on an iPhone 12 Max Pro and a tripod. Put your camera setting on “Night Mode” and you should be all set! The aurora borealis shows up so beautifully!!!

Don’t forget your travel plug adaptor and mophie (very cold so phones die quickly!)

Long airplane essentials: Neck pillow (my saving grace), eye cover, AirPod to airplane bluetooth connector for movies!

I highly recommend a travel credit card such as the Chase Sapphire Credit Card. Because of this credit card, we flew to Levi, Finland and back for 61.00 USD total using our points. DM or email me for my referral link!

This trip was truly so magical and breathtaking, I HIGHLY recommend it!! I will never forget it!
